The Challenge

A brand selling real product behind a placeholder website.

Mahi Apparel USA is a working wholesale clothing business with real inventory, real buyers, and a real trade-show presence. The digital surface did not match the operation.

The existing site was anchored in Lorem Ipsum copy, padded with invented team members, and shipped with eleven product pages that rendered empty. There was no Faire storefront, no meaningful social presence, and no structured B2B funnel — every wholesale inquiry routed through a single brittle inbox.

Direct competitor Pioneer Wholesale — sitting at 4.1★ on Google and 2.2★ on Yelp — was winning on sheer buyer visibility alone. Mahi needed to outrank them not on discount, but on professionalism: a storefront buyers trust in under thirty seconds.

  • Lorem Ipsum copy sitewide Rewritten, retail-grade copy on every page
  • Fictional team bios Real-business positioning aligned to wholesale audience
  • 11 dead product pages 32 products restored with full spec sheets
  • No Faire, no social Faire spec + Instagram/TikTok anchored to SKUs
  • Single inbox as the B2B channel Wholesale application + gated pricing + buyer sequences

The Approach

Three phases. No shortcuts.

Phase 01

Foundation

Kill the Lorem Ipsum. Audit every page, every product, every photo. Rebuild the information architecture around one audience: wholesale buyers who need to check MOQs, margins, and availability in under thirty seconds.

Phase 02

Channels

Stand up the missing B2B surface area. Faire storefront spec, Instagram and TikTok anchored to product SKUs, trade-show one-pager, and buyer outreach sequences. Stop relying on a single brittle wholesale inbox.

Phase 03

Shopify Migration

Rebuild the store on Shopify with a Dawn-themed custom layout, wholesale-gated pricing, margin calculator, MOQ banners, and a retail-research-driven navigation. Ship multi-page Shopify-ready — home, collections, product, about, wholesale, contact.

Rebuild Highlights

What actually shipped.

Multi-page Shopify-ready

Home, collections, product templates, about, wholesale application, and contact — each wired to Shopify sections so the client can edit copy and hero media without touching code.

32 products restored

Eleven dead product pages were rebuilt from zero. All 32 SKUs now ship with rewritten, retail-quality copy: materials, fit notes, packaging, MOQ, case pack, and suggested retail.

Wholesale-gated pricing

Retail browsers see lookbook-style pages. Approved wholesale accounts see case-pack pricing, tiered discounts, and a live margin calculator — no price leakage to competitors.

MOQ banner + margin calculator

Every product surface carries a minimum order banner and an inline margin calculator. Buyers model their keystone in the page, not in a spreadsheet.

Retail-research-driven structure

Information architecture informed by live competitor audits — including Pioneer Wholesale (4.1 Google / 2.2 Yelp) — and Faire/Tundra top-seller patterns. Structure is built for conversion, not decoration.

Dawn-themed, brand-true

Built on Shopify Dawn for long-term maintainability, then customized with Mahi's palette and typography so the store reads as a real brand, not a template.

Tech Stack

Built to be maintained, not rebuilt.
